A Playwright Grows in Brooklyn 2007 was amazing...

thank you

To our Artistic Director, Anthony Marino, for being the "drive" behind this wonderful festival. You, my friend, are the best...

To our playwrights, directors, players and staff...we thank you for your dedication and your commitment to excellence.

To our families and our audience… we thank you for your continued support and your love.

To Arlene Keating, congratulations on your "Vince Mazza Award". You are truly deserving of this prestigious honor. You, like Vince, are a real Brooklyn treasure.

To our State Senator, Marty Golden, who stopped by to wish us well and hand out a few Senatorial Certificates to our playwrights, we thank you for your support and all your help.

Keep checking our website for more fun stuff...

You'll be glad you did!!

Submissions are now being taken for our 2008 One Act Festival!!!!
Here are the rules----

Each entrant shall submit an original “one-act” play (between ten minutes and thirty minutes in length) along with a copy to one of our drop-off points. Each entrant will retain their individual authorship rights to each piece. Each winning author will have the right, if they so chose, for brooklynONEtheater to produce, direct, cast and promote each piece as part of their 2008 festival. There will be no fee paid for the use of the play, and all decisions on presentation will be determined by brooklynONEtheater.

The festival will consist of hand-submitted original “one-act” plays, in three different categories: Grammar school age, high school/college age, and adult. We encourage authors to submit plays (10-30 minutes in length) concerning drama, comedy or musically based. Brooklyn-based subject matter preferred, but not mandatory.  Each category will be represented, with a script chosen by brooklynONEtheater members, and will be presented for viewing by brooklynONEtheater satellite members* at St. John’s Church in Bay Ridge.

Submitted plays need an official “Festival Form” (which is available at  www. Brooklynonetheater.org) to be hand delivered to either Sen. Marty Golden’s Office located at 7403 5TH Ave or Bookmark Shoppe located at 8415 3rd Ave during normal business hours. No scripts will be accepted after the deadline.
Winning authors will be notified by phone.
